I just went to the AKC website and the following has been posted:

An unusual number of AKC multi-group judges passed away during a recent 10 day
period. The Fancy mourns their deaths and sends condolences to their families.
Obituary:
James H. Moran - Multi-group judge (Toy and Non-sporting and some Sporting
breeds, BIS) and former Pug breeder, Jim Moran died of natural causes while on
a judging assignment in Sarasota, Florida on January 11th, 2000. Jim had been
president of the American Dog Show Judges Association at the time of his
death. He is survived by his wife, Grace, and resided in Oregon.
Sunny Dutton - Longtime breeder and multi-group judge (Sporting, Toy &
Non-Sporting) passed away of natural causes on January 13th, 2000. She was a
resident of Illinois.
James Cavallaro - Very active, multi-group judge (Toys, Non-sporting &
provisional Working, & BIS) and former Pug breeder died on January 16th, 2000
as the result of a inoperable brain tumor that was discovered just two months
ago. Jim lived in Florida and was active in the Greater Daytona Dog Fanciers
Association.
Quentin LaHam - Popular lecturer on anatomy and movement, all-breed Canadian
judge, multi-group American judge (Sporting,Working, Herding and some Terrier
breeds, BIS), was killed on January 17th, 2000 in an automobile accident that
occurred in front of the hotel where the judges were staying for the
all-breeds shows in Brookville, Florida. He was a resident of California at
the time of his death and reportedly was looking for property to relocate to
Florida with his wife, Betsy, at the time of the accident.
Betsy LaHam - Former AKC Field Representative and Afghan Hound breeder,
multi-group judge (Herding, Working, Shih Tzu & BIS), seriously injured in the
automobile accident that killed her husband, Quentin. Betsy died the following
morning, January 18th, 2000, while undergoing second surgery in an attempt to
save her life."
