Elaine,

Rethink letting him stay out if he has already shown an interest in your
down comforter! Believe me, Montana put holes in two of mine and has put
holes in at least 3 quilts. This when he was under 1 year. But I am still
very vigilant as he loves to chew on soft things (clothes, pillows, soft
chew toys, socks,. . . ).   :-/   He doesn't do it often now, just
frequently enough to keep me kicking myself when I forget and leave
something where he can get it. My friend says it was really funny watching
me gather up down, which had been scattered throughout the room, and stuff
it back into the comforter. I have repaired two now and am getting rather
good at it!
