Your vet should be able to prescribe a preventive routine.  We have used 
mineral oil periodically (monthly? Forgot the frequency) and have even used 
Ivormectin (yes, the heart worm preventive.  Don't ask me how it works as I 
took our vets recommendation at face value without question).  IF you feel 
you are getting them and there is a reinfestation, the mineral oil seems 
appropriate as it suffocates the remaining or new infestation.
