Merrilie- What a WONDERFUL idea! and one that I wish more folks would
do! All extra help and gifts are appreciated, however, some
shelters have more specific needs at specific times. Is there any way you or 
someone you know could call the shelter during the day when you are working 
to find out those needs? What type of animals does your Humane Society work 
with? (Ours here handles cats and other small animals while Animal Control 
takes in only dogs). Odd needs that we ask for at the shelter include office 
supplies, towels, litter, someone to mow our lawn once a month, empty 
aluminum cans to recycle for $, bleach, cleaning supplies- doesn't sound 
very warm and fuzzy but it is much needed and appreciated! Gift 
certificates, as mentioned earlier, are wonderful as well.
