Not for one minute do I believe that people resort to a shock collar an "easy 
fix it". Quite the contrary-I think most people, myslef included, resort to 
it after a LONG time and after going through all the other corrective 
techniques.The collar works great on a pyr even with the thick fur.Yes, I 
have to manually "torture" him for an instant and as a result gets months of 
no running away, no barking, being able to go off lead etc etc.Small price to 
pay I think, for him as well as me.
