I live on 2 completely wooded acres, and I really do not have a flea or tick
problem with my pyrs, or my brittany. I use Frontline in the early summer
months May/June when ticks are bad, and then advantage every other month. We
also spread diazinon outside the perimeter of the dogs enclosure. (If you use
diazinon, you should use it where the dogs cannot get in it, because I have
heard of it being carinogenic)

I tried a preventic collar this year in the early summer, and I was not
impressed. The Frontline seems to do really well to conrol ticks on my dogs.
But every dog is different.

My cats do not seem to have a tick problem, so they get advantage applied
every other moth year round.
