Merrilie,  Please remember he is only a kid, albeit a large one.  He is
only in puppy obedience.  I think people make a big mistake when they
forget that his size  is way ahead of his maturity level.  It takes far
longer to raise and train children than dogs...and yet we give them no
period of grace at all.

Maybe it is a mood, or the weather, or any number of things.  Just don't
get so frustrated with him.  He will be grown and mature before you know
it, and you will wonder where his puppy hood went.  We have them with us
for such a short time.

I have been raising four all the same age, so believe me, it is not that
I don't sympathize.  What your going through I would do ... times four ! 
But honest, he will get the picture, maybe with a little Pyr.
stubbornest, but with the desire to make you smile.  Just remember...he
is a big child!  Step back...take a breath...and think, tomorrow or the
next day...it will come to him.  Good luck, :-)  Cindy.
