[PyrNet-L] Zeke is Home!
Hello Everyone!!!!!
I just got to work and have a minute to breathe. Our morning started out at
about 6:45. Yuck! I didn't even know the sun shines that early... We dropped
our doughter off at school and off we went. Well 45 minutes into the trip to
Wildwood Fl. we found out the directions she gave me were wrong and we were
going in the wrong direction. We were supposed to go N. and she said S. When I
asked someone at a gas station they told me I had to go the other way.. Great!
We got to the Wildwood exit 3 hours later. I called her from a ags station and
she said they were on their way out. I asked where could we see the dog and
she said they would see us in a few minutes... Met the owners and followed
them to the house where Zeke stayed. We got there and from a very deep hole
Zeke had apparently dug out next the AC unit where a bowl was placed to
collect water from the drippings off the unit for Zeke to drink emerged Zeke.
We went into the back yard and Zeke went into insanity mode. Funny thing was
he only did it with me, Lea and Pete (my 2 1/2 year old son)... He slammed
into me and rolled on his back.
He started to run towrds Pete and stopped and licked the heck out of him... We
heard the other dogs barking from he house. They were nice and cool and
probably well fed. I started to love on Zeke but is was hard to do as no
matter where I touched him there was bone only... I can feel every rib,
vertabre, a his shoulders and hips. I could even feel his breastbone. I don't
think that Zeke wieghs more than 70 maybe 75 lbs. He is not all matted but his
coat is pretty bad and he is flea infested... (by the way can someone repost
that palmolive mixture thing for killing fleas?)
No collar, no tags, no vaccinations. The woman told me he has been totally
neglected and the people who live in her rental would just throw food on the
ground for him. So Zeke has been eating ants as well.
This woman actually had the nerve to cry when we left and insisted that if we
did not want him anymore to call her and she would take him back.
We responded Ohhh Yes mam.... (When Hell freezes over)Then we left as fast as
we could... The whole way home we just pet him and hugged and kissed him. He
is a major sweetheart. He did great with my son also.
Well we let Zeke and Guilty sniff noses and other stuff. I am so proud of
Guilty he never growled or anything. After the initial meeting in the house we
released Zeke outside and I kept Guilty on his lead. Then I had they were
doing great. I told lea to turn on the hose just in case and I let Guilty
loose as well. They played the Pee Pee game Zeke hiked his leg here Guilty
went right behind him. Then we let them both in the house. Guilty has one room
he does not seem to want to share at this time which is the kitchen. No
problem. Then Guilty started getting pushy and he put his paws on Zeke then
Zeke did the same. Guilty layed him down and growled and Zeke stayed down on
his back paws up submisive.... I told my daughter to be sure she always pets
Guilty 1st and if she is petting Zeke and Guilty walks in to pet Guilty for a
few weeks or so. Guilty has to believe that he is still # 1... Well actually
he is.
Zeke has an appointment for his exam, shots, and heartworm prevention.
We will start to fatten him up little by little. He has had no obedience at
all. So this will be fun. I think he is more like 2 1/2. Pretty pathetic
people. I will keep everyone posted..... Thank you all for the
encouragement....
Robb
