While I am certainly not experienced when it comes to breeding, I would have
to agree with you here. Labradors are quite notorious in Aust for having
horrendous hip problems (don't know about anyplace else?). I would not
consider Labs to be a big dog. Certainly not in comparison to Pyrs.
BTW Labs are also an extremely popular breed here and one of the ones most
likely to be bred 'indiscriminately' by 'backyard breeders'.
