I like the year to year and 1/2 average.  Just watching how they are
growing.  A real slow but steady grower can go up to 2 years, especially
if he has the chance to be real active.  I don't buy the spaying as a
reason to change, spaying and neutering if done early tends to allow them
to grow slower and longer often with more bone length and mass, so you
would want to be providing them with that extra good food while they
continued to grow.  Mind you, this if all said with the idea that you are
monitoring their growth.  Just my two cents! :-)  Cyn.
