Hi Marcia, welcome to the list.  Maybe hubby needs to be reminded that
dogs are sentient beings with feelings, emotions etc.  Give him a copy of
the book " Dogs Never Lie About Love " by  Jeffrey Masson.  Remind him
that living beings are more important than material possessions.  What
ever other changes you make will have to be slow, giving the dogs time to
adapt.  Remember, that as thinking beings, they may not be happy with
getting sidelined.  Do you have kids?  Is hubby much of a control type in
general?  He needs to lighten up, for sure.  Good luck!  Cindy.
