To the owner of the Hamster Pyr:

My 10 month old male - Atlas - does what my hubby calls "cheekin' it".  We
never likened it to a hamster because we always believed it was happening
without Atlas's knowing.  We thought that things were just getting stuck in
his gums and he could not help it.  We just recently started letting him have
free roam of the house - he got hold of a miniature Pyr statue - of course
breaking it.  I was going to try to glue the thing back together but a leg was
missing - looked for it everywhere - later finding it in his cheek - stuck
there and he was sucking on it trying to free it.  It is so hard to know what
Atlas does intentionally - sometimes he seems so smart - hiding his cookies in
his mouth from the adult female Pyr we also have - but other times he just
seems so goofy and clueless that you have to wonder if things are just getting
stuck in his cheeks.
