[PyrNet-L] health update: seamus
here's the latest on seamus. thanks to all of you who helped arm me with
possible causes of his overdrinking/excessive urination problem. he went in for
a water deprivation study and passed. the blood work all came back normal as
well. the only thing that was out of whack was his eosynophil count. for those
of you like me who don't know what this is its one of the white blood cells that
they take a count of to look for infections, etc. he said that this is usually
caused by some type of worms, not heartworms, which he has tested negative for
every year. so i dropped off a stool sample this morning for analysis, haven't
heard anything back. but the vet did rule out diabetes insipidus and cushing's
disease, especially because with one of these the eosynophil count would be next
to nothing.
aren't vets funny? i dropped off poop and had to pay 13 bucks for the analysis!
this transaction struck me as odd...
anyway, if you know of anything that may cause this to be elevated let me know.
my vet he would be curious as well given that the rest of the blood work looks
great. he also said seamus was an awesome patient! given what we all know
about seamus and the fact that he was there for 8 hours having a catheter stuck
in every couple of hours, this sounds like we're moving in the right direction
with him! now, if we can just figure out why he hates the groomer...
