[PyrNet-L] Re care: dry shampoo
Hi all, Had
great luck with my first Samoyed using a shaving cream like
product. In the dead of winter he came in black with flea's
jumping off. The name escapes me but it was available at the
Acme. It went on pretty cool and was worked down into the coat
with out much problem. Would have made a great picture for one
of the old 'take it off, take it all off' Noxzema commercials.
It did away with the fleas and left his coat unbelievably clean when brushed
out. We used it a couple of times in winter to keep him nice while
apartment living. Course when we got a house into the tub he
went.
You should have been here last
weekend when both the 'Bear and Heidi got bathed. When 'Bear
saw Heidi reluctantly entering the tub he took off for the
hills. Once in she enjoys herself.
'Bear actually planted his front feet on either side of the door frame when we
tried to bring him into bathroom. Kathy and I got to laughing
so hard he escaped for the moment again.
It's not that cold here in Jersey yet so we just dry them with large, very large
towels just for them, then limit their out side trips until they're dry deep
down too.
Another thing Kathy does is use
'mister hand', one of my old socks and a bucket of doggy shampoo
water. This is for the quick clean ups of the two slime balls,
mostly 'bear', and Heidi's paws and chest if she's been
digging. Hope some of this helps.
Kathy, Joe,
Chewbear(Sammy) and Heidi(pyr)
Wish you well.. Woof,
