Charlotte,

Thanks--I'm working on that too. :)  When she's ready (takes awhile ;)) 
and she's had some obedience ring experience at matches and trials, I'm
bringing her to a National Specialty for obedience.  It may not be in 1999
but 2000 sounds about right.

Summer is one bright girl.  For example, we were doing stationary
exercises in the kitchen.  She was taught to go from a stand to a down by
dropping and folding back, down to a sit by bring the rear foward, sit to
a stand by kicking out her rear legs, etc. on voice command and hand
signals alone.  Even after a long period away from training, she
remembers.  This particular exercise requires her to have good control of
her body.  Just when she was about to anticipate and make the incorrect
move, she paused momentarily--I could see the light come on (AH-HAH) --and
she quickly went into the correct position.  She's cute.
