[PyrNet-L] Fresh start?

Just because someone is free to do something does not mean that that thing
is necessarily the most helpful thing or that they would be acting in love or
acting with respect. All of us deserve to be respected until such time as we
prove ourselves unworthy of that respect. (I know those more distrustful and
negative may well say that people have to earn respect, but I'm hoping we are
better than that.) It is so easy on the internet to misunderstand each other
or not catch the sarcasm or teasing or humorous tone of a phrase. A lot of
tolerance is needed and maybe some, like myself, need a tougher hide even. I
came very close to quitting the lists the past week or so. I received so many
public and private posts asking me not to that I guess I'll be around for
awhile. (Many thanks for those who were so encouraging!) I regret that I
haven't been my normal humorous self on many of my posts of late, but things
were getting discouraging on the lists. (I wish I could blame it on Albert's
suddenly becoming totally angelic, but I'll try to keep this reality-based!!
<vbg> LOL!! ) Hopefully we can put all this behind us and start fresh and
treat each other with respect. I doubt that many of us know enough about the
others on these lists to decide they are not worthy of respect or to decide
they don't love their pets or to decide they mistreat their pets. Therefore
I feel there is little room for disrespect, and judgements that others don't
love their dogs, or judgments that people are mistreating their dogs. Let's
contiunue to share and converse back and forth, but please let's re-read our
posts before sending them off and make sure we said what we meant to say
clearly, and that we quoted the portion of a post we are responding to, and
also that we are not being judgmental or hurtful or unkind to others on the
list. Oh! And please let's try to change the subject line when necessary! I
know I automatically delete past posts with subject lines I am not interested
in and would not want to miss something else or a funny story in there because
the subject line wasn't changed.
OK, I'll get off my soapbox now. Let's all make a fresh start now, OK?
Peace!
