[PyrNet-L] If pyrs were easy to train
I have been lurking on this list for awhile. I'm 52 yrs. old and had a
dog all my life. Mostly mutts, but have had a german sheperd, standard
poodle,and a yellow lab. Presently have a 11 yr. old lab/golden mix.
This dog will retrieve in water or on land, point, tree and track.
Perfect dog for kids. Great companion. I didn't train him to do any of
these things. Still , we don't consider him one of the brighter dogs
we've had. Not good at parlor tricks. FWIW, I found out it makes
everything easier later on if the dog first learns the word "NO" ,
without question or consideration on his part. This makes obedience
training less frustrating, especially through the puppy stage.
The purpose of this post, is that all the mail I've been reading about
pyrs, why would anyone bother with them?
