All of us out there training are going to agree to disagree on training 
methods and philosophies.  I know what works for me.  Obedience 
is not the only thing I'm into but it is the foundation for just about 
anything else you decide to do.  My interests are spread around 
into water, draft, agility, tracking and obedience.  So, it just 
depends on who goes into what.  And it's rough showing in breed 
and trying to do obedience.  I had to pick and choose who did what 
at which show and when I did do both, newf and pyr, I came out of 
one ring and co-owner was getting pyr ready for me to go into 
another and was prepared to go in the breed ring for me.  Always 
have a backup plan.  I just consider it another challenge and look 
at it positively.  And trying to work full time and getting 'em ready 
for shows and working stuff sure don't let you have too much time 
to slow down.  Let's put it this way I don't get bored.  

Ya'll carry on.  I'm off to a training workshop with the pyr for the 
weekend.
