[PyrNet-L] Throw-a-way dogs
One person's loss, another's gain.
I have mentioned my rescue pyr Rita and how she daily makes me laugh
and smile. Tonight I took Kazak and Rita to our local extended care
facility to 'trick or treat'. This was Rita's first time and I
coupled the two together with training collars on, as I really did
not know what to expect from Rita.< I have been working them on a
coupler in basic obedience>. Both were dressed in costume and both
looked equally adorable, Zak in a black cape with red devil horns and
Rita in a princess hat, with ribbons and beads and gauze. I even had
a friend along just in case I could not handle the two alone.
The plan was to just do a walk through, as this was Rita's first
therapy visit, but talk about a natural...she knew just who to greet
and place her head in their lap and who to just stand calmly and not
bother. She knew she was adorable and a little Princess and loved
every minute of the time we spent there.
I expect this behaviour from Kazak, as we have been doing therapy work
for about a year now. But daily, little Rita just amazes me.
What a treasure!
