Re: [PyrNet-L] Middleburg Specialty

Hi Stephanie, Ruth and all....guess we all found out that messages get
to the list whether sent to Pyrnet-l@gamerz.net or Pyrnet-l@pyrnet.org.
Anyway, I think that Joanne was referring to the message I sent with
ring times and entry numbers for the specialty.

We we had a great time! (Even Stephanie's Paddy who hates showing seemed
to enjoy being there). The weather was just gorgeous, there were lots
of people there for the picnic ....even David and Nancy Kintsfather came
with Clondike who really seemed full of energy. Jane Gill, GPCA
obedience Chairman, showed Wheeezie in conformation classes....Wheezie
is really quick with those obedience sits and wanted to do a recall for
the judge!

The trophy table was absolutely spectacular with framed Pyr artwork for
all the top places (each a different picture) and matted prints of Pyr
artwork (a different picture for each class) for first through fourth
place in each class all provided by Janet Ingram, NCAGPC Rescue
Chairman. Many thanks to Janet!

Was great to have Kim Lasley here all the way from CA to judge
Sweepstakes. Her choice for Best in Sweepstakes was Devoir Roxmar Lady
La Vamp bred by Adrianne Hughes and owned by Adrianne and Melissa Baker
(who showed her and was thrilled with the win). Best of Opposite Sex to
Best in Sweeps was Pyrfection Edouard Manet owned and bred by Nicole
Sharpe and Janet Weymouth.

Donna & Carolyn Coffman's 10 yr old Ch. Rivergrove's Bruin Napoleon
really enjoyed getting back into the show ring. He is amazing for his
age. The judge had a hard time choosing Tina Sudnick and Karen Conley's
Ch. Andorre's Pascali Rose over Donna Coffman's Ch. Rivergroves Carte
Blanch for first in Vet. Bitch Class. The Best of Breed Class was
fantastic with 14 Champions competing. Judge George Heitzman's choices
were:

Best of Breed and Working Group 2: Ch. Rivergroves You Be the Judge
owned and bred by Jean Boyd

Winners' Dog and Best of Winners: Rivergroves Splendor in the Grass bred
by Donna Coffman and Jean Boyd & owned by Donna Coffman

Best of Opposite Sex: Ch. Whitehope Bittersweet Babs, bred and owned by
David Simon and Maureen Maxwell-Simon

Winners Bitch: Majesta's Vanilla Cream Soda, bred by Faye Ragland and
owned by Catalina & Sharon Murray and Faye Ragland.

Unfortunately, there were no obedience entries but we still have a
really gorgeous framed picture of a Pyr running through a wheat field
that will go for Highest Scoring Pyr at the next specialty!

The banquet was held at a restaurant in historic Leesburg with great
food. Was fun to have a chance to talk with all the visitors. The
auction was great fun with some really outstanding Pyr items.
