Re: [PyrNet-L] Feeding
A little trick to getting a pup or dog to eat its
kibble, esp the working/herding breeds is get get a
can of Condensed Goats milk, dilute it 50/50 with
water and sprinkle it on the kibble just enough to
scent it. It is good for them and if they need
weight will help there too. Doesn't have the Lactose
prob associated with cows milk and is you can say
"hereditary" to these breeds. Goats milk is quite
common in the mountains.
If their stools are well formed and not too loose
with canned, hey, whatever works.
There is more harm in overfueling to quicken the
growth curve than in doing it more slowly as long as
the dog is not suffering from malnutrition.
By the way our 12 week old pup is on Premium Edge
Adult and she only eats about 2 - 21/2 cups a day max
but the protein/fat percentages are well within the
AAFCO specs and she is gaining weight slow but sure.
