[>] I agree Janice, thankfully I'm in an obedience class with
an instructor who owns a Leonberger. She has given me several tips on
how to get a good response, and to work with the type of dog that I
have. It's not impossible, just challenging. Why would anyone
"give-up" training their dog just because it's something they're not
"supposed" to do!! Other people have basically said not to expect too
much in the way of obedience with a pyrenees. Which is very
discouraging. If I wanted a laborador, I would have gotten one. I
don't plan on ever stopping asking my pyr to do different things!! You
never know when they might surprise you!

For instance, my pyr LOVES to play fetch. I was told by two
different individuals that they "have never met a pyr who would fetch".
Now, I didn't teach her or anything, I just built on a behavior she
liked, and we have a ball (no pun intended!) together.

Best of luck in your draft work, sounds like great fun!
