Re: [PyrNet-L] Re: pyrnet-l-digest.19980917
Becky, Cooper and Zoe....welcome! Our boy Paddington, now 5, had surgery
for patellar luxation when he was about 7 months old. Although his toe
turns out a bit, the foot has not developed quite as much as the other
rear foot, and he walks with a lop-sided gait and sometimes a bit of a
limp, his leg is basically strong, the joint is stable, and occasional
buffered aspirin reduces any discomfort from excessive exercise etc. One
thing we have done is put him on glucosamine/chondroitin sulfate, a
natural product that's supposed to support healthy joint development and
prevent/cure/ease joint pain (depending on who you talk to!) We have found
it to be very effective. We buy a product called Joint Care from Foster &
Smith (mail order catalogue). The stuff is expensive, but less so there
than any other we've found, and worth it for the difference it makes.
