Re: [PyrNet-L] "Nanna, Help"
Title: Re: [PyrNet-L] "Nanna, Help"
My male PYR, Klondike, has had a red and raw rear end twice this summer. Both times, they shaved the area and put him on 1000 mg of Cephalexin per day for first 10 days, then 4 weeks. Finally, the poor guy feels better and is no longer scooting around the yard.
I haven't bathed him since then, and each time he goes outside, I clean him off and powder him with Johnson's baby cornstarch. He's doing very well now! And as an added bonus, he smells great!
Good luck with your girl, and once she's better, maybe the cornstarch idea will help maintain her good health.

Hi Judy,
I agree with Carol. I think it's a yeast infection, also. Brianna (17 mth old) got a yeast infection last year that lasted months. The meds the doctor gave her did not work, so I pooled together all the mothers I knew and asked like you did. What do I do?
So here's the famous "Butt Balm"
1 tube Feminine Yeast Med. (Gynolotrimine)
1 tube Hydrocortisone Cream
1 tube A&D Ointment
Mix together and place in an airtight container. Use as needed.
I also use nothing else but Corona on Diaper Rash. It stays on thick and work!!! So as she heals you may want to use the Corona (found at horse feed stores).
Hope this works. It took about two weeks for healing to begin with Brianna.
