Hi all, this is really a message to the implementers, but other players
====== might also like to add a comment.
I write about Dama and Draughts, and possibly other similarly-notated games.
Namely, I would like the use of "C" for a checker to be replaced.
I suggest "M" for man; or "P" for piece, which gells with pawn also.
The reason is, I am finding I constantly write a move as e.g. C3-C4 when
I really mean H3-H4 or whatever column it is. "C" is the last thing I see
as I mumble my move to myself to write it in the send line, and occasionally
it sticks in my mind instead of the column letter!
I know this is my own silly fault, but it would be safer to use a letter
further down the alphabet, coz I'm not very special and whatever I do
lots of others will do too, I'm sure.
Usually it doesn't matter, you get an error message; but now and then
you've actually GOT a piece on C3, and you inadvertantly make a loony
move through a mere typographic error which isn't picked up. I'm sure
I've lost at least one tournament game this way!
So please, can it be changed? What do others say?
