Re: [life] hello again!
Nope. wrong game.
Life is properly "Conway's Game of Life"
in the single player version, it's just build patterns.
In the multi-player version it works like this.
NxN board
start of game, each player has M cells "seeded" on the board.
player 1 adds a single cell of their own, and also
selects a single cell for destruction.
Then a "generation" is born.
(what is a generation? good question... glad you asked)
for each cell on the board, count the number of cells around it.
if the total number of cells is less than 2, it dies of loneliness
if the total number of cells is 4 or more, it dies of starvation
If a cell is empty, but surrounded by exactly 3 cells, a birth occurs.
the color of the cell is the same as the majority color around it.
(in 2 player, there will always be a majority. what about 3+ players?
don't know... good question)
now it's player 2's turn. add a cell, kill a cell.
'generation'
lather rinse repeat.
once a player is out... they remain out. No way to add a cell.
continue until only 1 player remains.
