Sides, Case is ticked that I didn't give him a legal in-character reason to squash the group's Templar like a bug. I run the game for them. His Syker and the group's Templar have a history you could say. The Templar has shot at him and actually shot him once, in addition to wandering off and doing really impulsive things like jumping out of the car in the middle of road combat. My rationale for not letting him run the Templar over is that is NO fun. I figure if they want to throw down, heck, it'll let me use the Timed Duel rules if nothing else. And maybe thier NEXT characters will figure out that in a post-apoc environment, you DO NOT attempt to kill posse members cuz there's worse things out there and people who need heroes, even if they are dumb as a box of wet mice at times. Also, I have a few things planned for Senor Templaro to cure him of being stupid. HEE HEE HEE.

Ok, here's a quesion that i've been working over in my head. Dark heros...the type like wolverine, the kind that will save a person, place, or thing...but do it first off his way and secondly anyway that works...and not care about damage to a town or area that was involved...so long as the objective was completed. Is this type of character playable in Deadlands. Now i'll explain just a bit more
indepth:
The dark hero in question is my banshee syker, he saved a town from a horde of vampires and had no care what so ever that he burnt down a quarter of the town. He will fight just about anything...on his terms...he'd probably spit in stones face...then run to a place he'd found to ambush him...not saying he has a chance...but the point is he choses his battles...the where at least if possible and will try to get through em if he doesn't have much control over em any way possible.
A situation came up last game session that really put a kink in what i saw the character doing, our templar had the road warrior stop her car so he could get out and play with the cancer zombies(if ya don't know...it's a long story) I was running right behind them in a heavily armored semi...the problem with this is that there was a wee bit of road to one side of the warriors car and another lane...which happened to have a templar in it. Normally you would just driven off road and
delt...well not in this case...where the embankment is very deep, like 50+ feet. I had to hope and pray that i made it round the warriors car instead of running over the templar.
Now the actual question here is: Is this character playable in HOE? Because he's not your average hero, save the chick go to next chick rinse and repeat. He's got a darker shade to him. Just thought i'd get it off my mind...cause it's buggin the heck out of me.
Thanks a lot

In short, yes, i think they are very fitting for all eras of Deadlands.
The one downside is that the more typical 'goody goody' heros get a bit
better treatment at times.
