[HOE] Martial Arts Maneuvers

Greetings all--

I have a few questions about martial arts maneuvers and how they work. In Waste Warriors, there are several martial arts maneuvers listed. Some of them would seem to target specific locations on an opponents body. For example, Head Butt obviously is directed at an opponents head, and Sweep would be directed at an opponents feet or legs. Now in the description for the maneuvers, some say they require a raise or perhaps even two raises on the martial artist's attack roll in order to be successful. My first question is, does that requirement for a raise replace the normal target number adjustment for a called shot? Or is it tacked on in addition to the normal penalty for a called shot?

For example, lets say I am trying to use Head Butt against an opponent with a Fighting of 3. My normal TN just to hit them would be 5(base TN)+3(opponents fighting score)=8. Head Butt says you need to hit with a raise to be successful. Would that mean the TN is now 5(base TN)+3(opponents fighting score)+5(a raise)=13? Or is it 5(base TN)+3(opponents fighting score)+6(called shot to the head)+5(a raise)=19?

My next couple questions concern the maneuver Lock. The description for Lock says that it is an attack where the martial artist is attempting to trap an opponents limb in a painful lock. After hitting your opponent with a raise, you then roll your fighting: martial arts vs your opponent's vigor. If your opponent rolls less than you, they suffer a penalty to all actions equal to the amount he lost by. He may spend an action to try and break the lock by winning an opposed roll of his fightin vs your fightin: martial arts. While you are maintaining the lock, you may only perform simple actions.

First of all, the description does not indicate which limb, if any, is considered to be locked. Does this mean that even if I have a lock on someone, they can still use both arms against me, at whatever penalty is imposed by the lock? For example, lets say I am going up against a two fisted gunslinger with a gun in each hand. I make a Lock attempt against them, and am successful. The MA vs vigor roll comes out to a difference of 4 points, thereby imposing a 4 point penalty on anything the gunslinger tries. Could he then attempt to shoot me with both guns, although at a -4 penalty on top of any other penalties that would otherwise apply? Or is one arm considered "locked" and unusable?

Last question about Lock: If I am a two fisted martial artist, can I attempt lock with one hand, and then maintain that lock with the one hand and use the other hand to attack with? Or does the Lock require both hands, and thus I am still stuck doing only simple actions until I let go?

Any info on these would be greatly appreciated.
