Wow, that's the harshest criticism I've heard about that movie yet. I
must adamantly disagree however. I think this movie is perfect Hell on
Earth fodder. You have a survivor community trying their best to
survive in a world dominated by gigantic monsters that they can't stop
and then some bad-ass heroes just saunter on into town. Not any bad-ass
heroes either, super-monster slaying, over-the-top, Americans. The only
thing missing was a dragon skull over the tank barrel. They come in
saying they're going to fix the problem and do, albeit the town they
were saving is destroyed and the leader himself dies (that is my only
real problem was the futility of his death). Nonetheless, the day is
daved and the fear level is brought down. I had someone model their
omega-man veteran character after him. Good stuff to me.
