[HOE] weapon speeds and double taps

Hi everyone,

One of my players has just found the old double tap rules in the HOE setting 
book. As I understand it, if a character double taps he fires at a target and 
if he gets a raise both bullets hit the same location. futher double taps ine 
the same round incure a penalty, fair enough.

The question I have is this...

In the revised rules it states that double action pistols can fire twice in the 
same action (update from weapon speeds changed to 1). Does this mean that:

a) to double tap you need a semi-automatic pistol, which is not considered 
double action so if you want to fire more than once, you must double tap.

b) you can double tap twice on one action and can therefore fire 4 bullets in 
one action

c) you can fire twice or double tap but not both

d) something completly different
