[HOE] Re: 5 Grit

The nice thing about HOE is a lot of the old "rules" concerning the
Reckoners don't apply anymore. Los Diablos is still an option, but you can
really throw anything you want at pain in the keister do-gooders who make
too much of a nuisance of themselves.

I like the Doppelganger idea - though it's less fun with a Cyborg than with
some posse members, since the character in question always has its own nasty
crawling around in his tin-plated cranium.

Alternately, try using the "ghostly voice over the radio" option from "The
Wasted West". Perhaps some evil vindictive spirit or a manitou lures the
character into the domain of <insert nasty critter of choice here> - maybe
even the spectre of one of the cyborg's past victims?

If you are really worried about power level of the cyborg in relation to
whatever comes after him, bear in mind that you can always find a bigger
bad. On the extreme side, Stone makes a habit of hunting down truly pesky
do-gooders (though sicking the ultimate Grim Servant o' Death on a posse
member is bordering on sadistic cruelty). Bear in mind, though, that Stone
doesn't always come on his own - he might dig up some other hombres to do
the job for him instead.

The only problem with the last option is once you've introduced it you have
to deal with the problem of sooner or later the posse member dies or Stone
comes looking to finish the job himself. On the other hand, depending on
your campaign, maybe that doesn't matter so much.

Some might argue it serves the brainer right for causing the Reckoners so
much trouble. ;-)
