I don't think there are any published specifics. As for recommended
guidelines, I'd say anything goes. It does of course depend on the type of
the match. I think every type of match imaginable occurs at one time or
another, some days it might be restricted to mundane thugs in leather armor
fighting it out with knives. Other days it might be open season, with
junkers in power armor with rail guns slugging it out with doomsayers. It
is mentioned that cyborgs and humans with junker augmentations compete in
the pit all the time. The cyborgs and scrappers are usually enhanced with
armor, saw blades, plasma swords, and what not. The only real restriction I
would expect is on fire power that could wipe out half the spectators.
Also, any fights that don't involve criminals are going to be reasonably
fair. Some brainer with a rusty shiv and a leather jacket isn't going to go
up against a plasma blade wielding syker in wolverine power armor, no matter
what the reward is.
All that being said, the vast majority of combat in the pit is going to be
with moderate to light armor with melee weapons appropriate to the level of
armor being worn. Most of the pit fights involving willing participants are
not to the death, although maiming and death are not uncommon. Furthermore,
I'm assuming here the participants are up front about their powers and
abilities. Sneaking your powers into a match to give yourself an extra edge
is another matter entirely.
