Gary Gygax was NOT in the D&D movie.  Dave Arneson (the co-creator of the
original D&D game) had a part as one of Profion's aliied wizards in the
tower during the "climatic" final battle.  That scene was cut from the final
version of the movie but can be seen in the deleted scenes available on the
DVD.
