[HOE] Gear Head knack and associated vehicle costs



All this talk about special character stuff for road warriors reminded me of the
Gear Head knack on Matt Steflik's Gimme Shelter page. He makes an excellent
argument for why vehicles shouldn't cost as much as they do at character
creation, and proposes a Gear Head knack which costs 1-5 points, gives access to
various car-related special abilities, and lets you start with various vehicles
depending on how many points you spend, from a used motorcycle or compact car at
1 point to a new big rig or military cargo truck at 5 points.

I'm not sure the special abilities are necessary, but I think translating Gear
Head points into Belongin's points and using the table for the Belongin's cost
of a starting vehicle is much more fair than making players pay the full book
price at character creation. You shouldn't have to take a Veteran edge just to
be a big rig driver. Any additional hardware or mounted weapons still cost the
normal price, of course.
