[HOE] The Librarian's Almanac for October 10th
SEDONA COMMUNE, ARIZONA – Folks across the southwest will have to wait a
while longer for that special delivery package. Law Dogs Cody King and
Dalton Barker are reluctantly announcing the temporary closure of the Red
Rock Trading Company. A local postal carrier, Theodora Slater, had arrived
with the monthly delivery to discover the Red Rock offices reduced to
smoking slag along with most of the buildings making up the Commune. Upwards
of thirty dead have been discovered in the ruins of the offices, most of
them being mutants and company employees. An exploration of the surrounding
Commune shows evidence that the residents left while cooking or in the midst
of other household duties. There appears to be a large amount of material
missing from the company warehouse, including several refurbished trucks, a
number of shipping containers suitable for moving dense liquids, large
amounts of seed and a cache of blank data slugs. Dalton Barker is asking for
volunteers to search out the company’s routes for any caravans outbound to
have them return immediately to take over the offices.
BIG WHISKY, WYOMING – Paulie Ryder, the unofficial jailer of the area woke
to a surprise visitor this morning. Ryder maintains a number of subterranean
cages that are used to store criminals while the town waits for a Law Dog’s
periodic visit. During the night, someone gained entry and left a deposit.
The unmoving form of Cedric, a notorious cyborg thief and cutthroat last
seen months ago in the Great Maze. Outside the thief’s cell was a small bag
of illicit tools and a large number of data slugs and computer parts. The
parts are unmarked so their previous owner remains unknown. Anyone with any
information on Cedric’s current crime or the source of his ongoing slumber
is encouraged to contact Ryder or Judge Marlon Hopkins who is en route.
