When I was at WEG, our rule of thumb was 50,000 words
for a 96-page book and add 10,000 for every 16-page
signature past that. So that 128-page book would clock
in at around 70,000 words.
These numbers give you a good fudge factor for art and
stuff. I think it averages to about 520 words per
page. If you use a small font face/point size, you may
get more on a page. I have heard that the PHB got
something like 700 to 1,000 words per page. Granted
you need a magnifying glass to read it.
Oh, and as I just finished up Way o the Brave and Way
o the Righteous, both 96-pagers, I checked and both
clock in at around 50K.
Hope this helps,
Fred J.

I've had it up to here. Listening to a small segment of people trying to put down America. America's the greatest land on Earth and we oughta be proud of what we have. I'm proud of America. I'm proud of our people and I'm going to prove it. We're American and damn proud of it!
