Re: [HOE] Is making "Wrasslin'" an Arcane Background possible?
Well, I wasn't saying it had to be an Arcane Background, though I am working
on it rules for it. It just that I have been a part of a Wrestling on-line
RPG for a while. I had ideas like:
Hinderances:
Can't Sell (-3): Your Wrassler can't sell a hit to make it look more
painful than it was. This adds -4 to any Performin' rolls done to fake
injury during a fight.
Cue My Music (-3): Your Wrassler can't go into character as easily as
any other Wrassler without some form of intro music. It can be anything
from an off-key hum to a full light show with music as long as it is done.
Going "In Character" would have a -4 penalty for every round where no theme
music is heard.
Edges:
He's Hardcore (3): Any damage done by a blunt object or improvised
weapons does less damage similar to 1 level of armor and is cumulative with
"Thick Skin."
Stage Pressence (3): Your Wrassler can actually be that character
without going "in character." This adds 3 to all rolls for Performin':
Wrasslin' when not actually fighting.
This would then lead to the gift (and probably the only one) of "In
Character." Think of it as Bibliopathy for Wrasslers. This channels the
character (1-5) levels with the same problems as Bibliopathy. If your
Wrassler is a heel, then you hafta watch for the Backstab.
But, like I said, this was just an idea.
