I shall see that (though probably not read it, as I don't do much non-gaming
reading unless it's in electronic format) and raise you The Illuminatus!
Trilogy, also by Robert Anton Wilson and the late Robert Shea. It's a great
read once it all starts coming together, which takes a couple hundred pages
to do. However, one non-spoiler caveat about the ending: it ends the only
way it can and you'll either love it or hate it. I loved it, my sister hated
it.
