[HOE] Alternative Doc Holiday Martyr
I had written this up awhile back... With all the Martyr postings, what the
heck.
Saint Holiday: Patron Saint of the Chronically Sick
The infamous Weird West Gunslinger was not a good role model to the idea of
the Templars... All those bad things he did. He was, however, also loyal
to his few good friends, and, despite his wasting sickness, always helped
them out when needed. Even death hasn't stopped him, and he's back at the
side of Saint Wyatt Earp.
The Deed:
Doc Holiday appears to those Templars and Companions that are close to
Deaths Door due to sickness.
Marshal's only after this point!!!
Doc Holiday, Saint of the Chronically Sick:
Deed: Saint Holiday comes to Templars and Companions that have a deadly
sickness (Ailin': Fatal), yet choose to continue fighting on, rather than
accept Death easily. He will also appear to those with Ailin': Chronic, if
they attract Saint Earp's help, but will leave if they loose his trust.
White: Allows the Waster to either Ridicule, Overawe, or Quickdraw with
their Faith, as opposed to the proper skills.
Red: Eases the Sickness for a number of hours equal to the Wasters Faith.
No minuses, hacking cough, ect.
Blue: Allows the Waster to use any "Shootist" hexes listed in "Lone Stars:
The Texas Rangers" (PIN 1040) or "Hexslinging" hexes in "Law Dogs" (PIN
1015). Alternatively (If you don't have Lone Stars), allows the Waster to
spend another chip and activate any of Saint Earp's Blessings.
Legend: The Sickness goes into Temporary Remission! It goes from a Fatal
Ailin' to a Chronic Ailin' (Or a Chronic Ailin' to a Minor Ailin') for a
single month! Saint Holiday sticks with the Waster during this time as they
still have the sickness. (Unless, of course, they vex him.).
Vexations: "Doc" was a Son of the South, and will leave the Templar for 1D6
days if she badmouths the Confederacy. He will completely leave if the
Waster doesn't aid her Posse for any reason, unless she is on her Deathbed
(And if that happens, he probably won't be much help.).
