Okay, in that case, I present to you Arnold Fusspucket, Patron Saint of Red
Tape
During the 1980s Arnold worked for the US Government offices of Filing &
Archives when he was attacked by the dreaded zombie hoarde of Disco Inferno.
Seems they were put out that their music was slowly dying. Anyway, Arnold
single-handedly held back the hoarde for twenty-three years, requiring the
hoarde to fill out paperwork (in triplicate) for the legal seizure of
brains, amassing in a public area, sanitation control of the undead &
various other bits of red tape that is involved when dealing with the
government. Finally, the head zombie would take no more & ate Arnold (more
like he ate his brains) & fortunately turned into a mid level clerk, and
directed his hoarde to the vast sorting & collating of government files.
This went on for several decades.
Deed: Templars attract the attention of Saint Fusspucket when they use
methodical, endless scutwork to do in the badguys, be it form filling,
getting three estimates for world domination, whatever.
Chips:
White: "The Voice: Monotonous" Templar can hold the attention of as many
baddies as he has Faith for as long as he can talk in a monotonous voice.
Red: Templar can avoid any maiming wound by rolling against a TN 9 in
Smarts; this is to show the player/character using his Spurious Logic to
point out arcane rulings listed on the List Serv why he shouldn't be harmed
by that particular hit.
Blue: Mass Confusion: Templar gains the ability stop any emotional actions
(ie: fighting) of a mob by pointing out that they are in violation of
obscure ordinances of assembly without permit, walking on the grass, or some
other trumped up charge. Templar makes a overawe roll v. the mob's highest
guts skill (average could be 3D6) with a bonus point added to his roll for
every level of Faith. (ie: a Templar with Overawe at 4D10 & Faith of 5
would have a roll of 4D10+5)
Legend: Discouragement: Templar can make any one bad guy, abomination or
otherwise become so annoyed with him that they leave in digust rather than
eat him. This is a Faith v. Spirit opposed roll; if the Templar goes bust,
the abomination does the exact opposite & kills the Templar in a fit of
"Going Postal."
Jeff "I would be sorely offended if someone actually adopted this as a real
Saint" S
