[HOE] Hell or Highwater (Slight Spoiler)

I just got "Hell or Highwater". If great, except for one problem. My
posse will not be intimidated by the Gators. They'll kill half the Gators
during the first encounter, and most likly finish them off in the second,
leaving not much for the citzens of Red Stick to worry about and nothing
for our friend in the last chapter to play with. And no Kaboom. Please,
anyone who has run this adventure or played it, if you have any ideas to
toughen up the Gator without taking away the powder or just increasing
there numbers, I'd appriciate it.

My posse has defeated the Destroyers, conquered the Boise Horror, made it
in and out of Denver, and taken out a devil worshipping biker gang. their
not going to be afraid of 40 guys in a river boat with muskets.
