Re: [HOE] Brainiac:Dualist Answer
Ok, thanks for sorting that out.
So, Brainiac:Dualist at level 1 gives the Two Fisted edge, +1 to using two hands at the same time (total mod of -1) and one additional single action that I can use on any one of my action cards? And all that for 5 points (+3 for Blessings o' the Atom for a total of 8 points)? I would call those 5 points VERY well spent. I don't see a reason for a combat oriented mutant not to take it.
Assuming you already are a mutant with Blessing o' the Atom, should you take Two Fisted for 3 points or Brainiac:Dualist level 1 and get the same benefit plus an additional action and even better use of both hands for 5? I know what I would chose. Two-fisted, since the other choice is obviously too good... ;-) I'm changing it for my game, each level does exactly what it says in the errata with the exception that the number of bonus actions is level - 1 and not level.Still good, the initial 5 points now gives Two fisted, increased abilibty to use both hands and the chance to imporve it further later on, but not too good (IMO). Well, in the end it is up to each individual Marshall how they want to handle stuff like this (as usual).

Johnny,
Sorry it took so long for me to answer, but I've been out of town for the
last week.
Basically, the Brainiac: Dualist entry is suffering from a typo. The entry
should have read:
"they may perform a number of additional short tasks per ROUND
without penalty equal to her current level in the mutation (at level 2
she can perform two additional short actions without penalty, broken up
however she wants across her total number of action cards)".
While some might think this is still too powerful, it IS fairly expensive.
It would require 3 bounty points for the Blessings o' the Atom edge, a (TN 7)
Vigor roll to get it going after exposing oneself to rads and then 5 bounty
points to get Brainiac: Dualist to 1, 10 to get it to 2 and then 15 to get it
to 3 for a grand total of 30 bounty points. Personally, that's a load of
bounty and it would take forever to build in my game. However, listening to
some folks on the list, it sounds like some Marshals give a lot of bounty
points in their games, but to each their own gaming style. It's the Marshal's
call on allowing these muties in their campaigns anyway.
Hope this helps,
Teller
