.410 is the caliber of the round.  Just like .45 is a caliber for a pistol.
I don't know what the gauge would be, but is is significantly smaller than a
20 gauge.  I have heard it is a 42 gauge, but that is just unconfirmed
rumor.  Either way, I would probably rate it at 4D6, with a range increment
of 5 and have the damage drop by 1D6/ range increment.  Having shot a .410 a
few times, it is OK up close, but looses effectiveness fast.  Beyond about
20 yards you aren't likely to hurt much.  The pattern is just too small.
