Few other thoughts I had for this android character
creation. Obvious hindrances would be stuff like susceptible to EMPs or
some such, very noisy (clank!, clank!) & maybe oddball body types (labor
bot being a treaded mini bulldozer critter with huge pincers for hands).
Of course, certain body types would negate some or all of these
problems.
Heh-heh, be real nasty & come up with a complete 54 suit
chart for body type & have as a potential 2S, "android tech spirit is
housed in a lab central computer network. You have no mobile features,
but all mental Traits are D12s...."

my junker's familiar is an andriod. the
powers balance out well since you can't have any other arcane background,
and nix makes for an interesting character. of course, anyone who
wants to repair an android will have to use the same skills a body doc
has. Oh, also, a good suggestion i've gotten is to make the focus the
chest. i think the character should choose between head, upper guts,
and lower guts for their focus.

Your waster's one of those andriods that had an "awakening".
In truth, what usually happened was that a tech spirit wandered into the
AI programming for an early andriod and it now has all the benefits of
personality and free will. yipee! What this means in game
terms is that you suffer wounds like harrowed, only a shot to the head
will destroy you. then, your tech spirit self is blown all to
hell. unless you have the smarts to evacuate the body(it takes about 5
minutes), that means you're gone forever, no hunting grounds for
you.
another disadvantage of this is that the AI still has a small
but noticable grasp on you, lowering your spirit die type to a maximum
of d6. plus, you can't buy any other arcane background. ow. but,
being part tech spirit and all, you can use ANY of the powers that your
browser spirit type has at level 6(still costs chips, look at the
junkman cometh). in addition, you still have a link with the
hunting grounds and may help direct tech spirits to a junker, giving
said junker a +3 to his science:occult engineering roll for building a
device. oh yeah, choose a tech spirit type, so you can determine
which powers you can use.
Android Table:
2:you're an early
android. not so well-built. your maximum die type for any
corporeal trait is d10.
3:A labor 'bot is where you made your
home. all corporeal traits gain a die type to a maximum of d12,
but all your mental traits lose a die type to a minimum of d4.
4:You
found a maid robot to inhabit. nothing changes.
5:You found
your way into a pleasure 'bot. gain the edges purty, the
voice:soothing, and raise your mien a step to a maximum of d12.
also, you get the randy hinderance.
6:Your body is that of an
infiltration android. gain 3 levels of sneak and raise your
nimbleness by a die type.
7:Yours is a pit fighter. Gain the
hinderances bloodthirsty, vengeful, and mean as a rattler, but raise any
two corporeal traits by a die type.
8:You've got a teacher bot's
body. Raise your knowledge by a die type and gain your choice of
any acadamia at level 5. The problem with this, however, is that
your body wasn't built to fight. subtract a die type from your
strength, vigor, and quickness.
9:You made your way into a tactical
droid. gain leadership at level 3, and raise your smarts by a die
type.
10:A scout droid seemed good enough for you. Get 3 levels of
search and trackin', and raise your cognition by a die type to a max of
d12.
j:Your body is a hazardous-materials 'bot. Raise deftness
by 2 steps, and vigor by one.
q:You found a soldier bot to
enter. Raise stength, quickness, and vigor by one die
type.
k:Lucyily enough, you got a late-model assasin android as your
body. get sneak at level 4, raise numbleness by 2 die
types.
a:You got into a junker-built android. You probably
asked him to do it for you, too. choose another
browser type:you can use both of their powers now.
jr:your spirit is
really human. how you got mistaken for a tech spirit is for you to
figure out. but, remove the restriction on your spirit, and raise
it a step from what it was before you reduced it, to a maximum of
d12. You can choose what kind of body you want.
jb:your robot
has a malfunction. let your GM worry about what it does to you,
she can be really nasty about it
too.
