Re: [HOE] Plot Holes

Typically, when we run a game, the marshal is always rotated (so no one is constantly stuck with that role), so characters are always coming & going.  Just have them gone.  If the players show up again, fine, the others find them in a town & can hook up again.  Sometimes I want to play my gunbunny--if so, then my blessed is off trying (in vain) to reform some sinners.  Sometimes, we need the reverend, so the gunbunny is off doing his thing.  If you read the old dimestore novels, you'll notice that except for one character, the posse's makeup is constantly in flux.

how do you deal with jerkwad players that decide to come 'when they feel like it' after they've made the committment to come week after week, and don't show up with no notice?  i usually take control of their character(keeping them conviently out of battles and experience), and after 3 consecutive game sessions missed without prior notice, they fall into the plot hole and are never seen again.
characters who appear once then are gone never existed.
