[HOE] re: - Campaign Advice (Long again sorry)
Evening all.
Thanks for all the input guys. It has been a real help.
One of the things that I should have said is that I have a posse of only 3
people and the idea was that by meshing the two games I could have a six
person posse. The basic premis of the campaign had already been set up when
the Hexslinger got harrowed for HOE and asked if he could run the same
character in HOE and in WW. I agreed and gave him Veteran of the Wasted West
and this only gives him 15 extra points rather than 25 for VoT wasted west.
This, I felt, would have made him much more powerful than the other starting
characters for the other two. Also, I think that it is gonna be a real
challenge for the players to try and play two characters each. I ahve to
admit that I can't wait o see their faces when I have the six characters run
into each other. I have gotten round the whole death thing for the him by
giving the Harrowed HOE Helsinger the power Eulogy. Thus when the all met
and the HOE 'slinger tells the WW version that he is dead and how long he
has been dead I am just gonna give him a heart attack and Die. Bingo,
instant harrowed and he suddenly remembers that he killed himself. The only
problem that I have now is one that has been rolling around in my head and
has been mentioned by Dan (Grand master Nilus) is the problem of a paradox.
Anything I do with the posse from that point on, the HOE character will have
already done, and so should be able to remember how they dealt with it. I
have to admit that I am tempted to have the HOE slinger killed at some point
early on (and I DO mean no coming back dead). I realise that this will mean
another round of Character gen for the player but then I have a lot less to
worry about.
I have to admit that I like the idea of really restricting the doomsayers
regain of strain appeals to me and I thought that 1 every 4 hours was ok but
having thought about it I am going with 1 per day. his should make it
interesting for the doomsayer player as his WW character is a Blessed.
With regard to the timeline issue, I was kinda thinking about 1 day in WW =
1 day in HOE. Makes things interesting if the posse has to be somewhere in
HOE adn they are stuck in WW. I get to play with things that are important
to them there.
Unfortunatly I haven't gotten Unity yet and it's a bit difficult to get
roleplay stuff in the UK. The majority of stuff that I buy has to be gotten
over the net. No Roleplay shops in my area at all (they all shut down)
Anyway, thanks again one and all and keep those thoughst rolling in. They
are a great help.
