First, can you teach your mailer not to send HTML? It would be nice
for the archives, and HTML adds no value. (The crap HTML Outlook
Express is writing under your name would actually be a harm of
someone read it. I mean "<DIV> </DIV>" -- really now!)

I asked roughly that question a bit over a year ago when I started
running HOE. (NB: I am not/was not the Marshall of the DL game which
still goes on in parallel.) The consensus was for Hell or High Water
to start. I think I got an extra advantage in that the posse started
out on the Mississippi and will take some time yet to get to any of
the source-heavy regions like the junkyard. (I don't do this "okay,
ten days later you're in Boise" stuff.)
Actually, they ran with their tales between their legs from the first
encounter with the big baddie in HoHW. In their second try (they
can't walk away from an enemy) he escaped, not quite vanquished. I
made them work hard to find him again (one character died in the
search) and they finally got their man.
