I thought it was -4, -8 with one die. Which my group thought was harsh and
threw out. But looking on the webpage it looks you are 1/2 right.
Defaulting to a stat is -4 with one die, but it says nothing (that I can
find, I may be wrong) about related skills now being -2.

If I'm missing it could you point it out?
