RE: [HOE] grenade question



Actually, I'd say that the thing was about 1/2 real and 1/2 Hollywood.

It's common practice for terrorists to create large shrapnel bombs by
surrounding a large amount of explosive with even larger amounts of nails,
glass, ball bearings, tin cans, anything sharp (the family cat?)   When the
bomb goes boom, the shrapnel rips (and I do mean RIPS) apart anything close
to it.

This thing would probably be more of a hindrance than a killer (especially
as the nails don't fully penetrate plasterboard), designed to deny access to
an area or to delay pursuers.

I'd peg it (game wise) as some short of modified claymore.

The Junker rules allow for the creation of these sorts of weapons, but it
would be a delicate line to walk...
