500? Um, no... if you check eBay you'll see Deities and Demigods (1st
printing w/ Melnibonean+Cthulhu) runs anywhere from $30-80. The Acaeum
also has a fairly complete list of older sourcebooks for D&D with price
ranges:

There are some rare books out there that can get pretty interesting
prices, like the Jade Hare or the Palace of the Silver Princess with the
